What an awesome display of maturity from our HCSO employees. Have you thought about how your actions posting on this site represent our agency? Don’t change gears and bring up Sheriff Chronister in your response. You have the right to like and support him or not but your behavior is sad, really sad.

Hey skippy if I can change the mind of one voter in this county from voting for this MF’r in 3 1/2 years then I consider my job a success and it’ll only be a plus for the Sheriffs Office. If you don’t agree then why are there 4000 plus views on this thread. Now go get the sheriff a coffee

Maybe you should see what poor staffing levels and the burnout it causes and how THAT represents our agency? Or how the big bad HCSO dumps things on its short handed deputies For a bigger budget that other agencies stopped doing long ago by standing up to its cities, counties, and states. By simply telling them NO! How about that? How about start there. Or are your priorities as screwed up as our leaders. You worry about this site while squads are half staffed and calls hold. What a joke you and the morons that run this place are. Even HCAS, FHP, and so many other walk all over us because our leaders don’t have the balls to back us up. How does that make the agency look. Don’t blame shift brown noser.

I second this. I’m just a dumb first responders report writer. Not on anyone’s priority list. Just an expendable number. While narcissistic politician play cop and have fun. Delegating all the work of course.

But it seems like there is alot of comparison, sizing up, with TPD On these forums.

My question is why give a crap what some other agency or outsiders say or think?
Every agency, company, organization, of any kind has issues. Has problems, that outsiders will not agree with, or bash, or hate on.. Nothing will ever be perfect.

If we are part of HCSO, then be proud of it , own it , and keep doing your best to improve it. We cant control what others think or say ..
I personally could give a flying rats butt what some other agency thinks of us. What I do care about is supporting other agencies whenever we can, and help out in any situation they might need our help in , and vice versa.

We shouldnt be pre occupied with worrying about that.. we need to worry about each other, and take care of our house and business in HCSO. Stick together, every family has issues.. let's not worry about what others think.. I sure as heck dont..
Well rookie, while you make less money working here for 30 years humping every call that gets called in with barely any screening while taking every report under the sun and doing the jobs of our detectives and the jobs that other agencies should be doing while surrounding agencies get higher pay, retire at 20 years, don’t work crashes, refuse certain reports, stand up to other agencies, have detectives that actually get called out and initiate cases instead of dump everything on us, have real crime scene units and actually come out instead of making its deputies process their own scenes, and so on… it matters. Burn out prevention matters. When you grow up, you will see. When you are all used up and have absolutely nothing left yet have 10 years to go, you will see. This agency acts and looks advanced and big. It’s not. It’s archaic and small. Very very small. Two domestic violence calls and one crash can take down and entire squad for hours. Very very small. With a ton of brass and admin.

Glad you have correctly assessed your usefulness and potential. Someone has to be a “bottom b1tch” and your lack of talent has led you right down to the ocean floor where you’re best suited. Don’t like it? Then quit!

With all of the complaining, one common aspect of the job is often forgotten, You are in control of your destiny and have the option to resign and seek employment elsewhere. I really don’t want to hear you list of reasons you can’t as your list will just substantiate that staying employed here is your best option. There are so many other jobs out there and trust me, they are hiring. Don’t be scared to make a life changing decision. You health and your relationship with your friends and family will prosper with your happiness when you resign and are employed elsewhere.

You are wrong. Very wrong. You hide the fact, or deny the fact, or are a fool to see, that as soon as you hit the streets and work a few months, you learn quite quickly that there is absolutely no way for a human being to mentally do this job this way for 3 decades. You look back and look over the year long application process, your year long academy, your hopes, your dreams, all the time you invested, and the fact that you have a year of probation left. So what do you do? You floor it. You give this agency all you got and more. In hopes to be noticed. In hopes to eventually get on a path. A path that leads away from the negative stimulus., bad stressors, the danger, the constant hyper awareness, the things that destroy mental health, and you come in early, every shift, miss all your lunches, take late calls, and risk burnout, just to get noticed and pulled off patrol. Because we were a fooled into believing that its 100% possible for all of us. You soon realize those safe (busy or not) positions are all reserved for the connected. That’s when you go into self preservation mode and slow down and try to recover. Hopefully NOT at the cost of your marriage, your relationship with your kids, or not an alcoholic yet. So you become a slug and limp by to the end. All while being cast in a negative light by the toxic police culture and its players. The agency counts on this. It wants you here long enough to offset the cost of hiring and training, but not long enough to become vested or hit max pay. Leaving at right around 8 years is exactly what they want. They also want you to work your ASSS off in false hope so they can run patrol with less deputies all while still receiving the budget for the strawman deputies in unfilled positions. More money for more brass in an already top heavy agency. You people are all expendable fools. Our citizens feel this when we show up. It rolls down hill.

Just quit? By the time we wake up and see the scam, we have already had a few kids, mortgage, car payments, and so on….

My solution is to make up for all the years I have it 300 % for nothing. To do the minimum for my pay.

There are two paths at this agency. The expendable pawns that you watch kill each other on the board and sacrifice and the players that are not even on the board. Your path to outside the board is the scam. You won’t get there unless long dimes slated told do so from before you were ever hired. You would already know.

Just quit? Fools. Control our own destiny! Fools. It’s a scam and so are you blind followers of the scam.
