Losing NINE contract cities would cripple BSO, slash jobs

This news really is bad https://www.floridabulldog.org/2021/...s-amid-unrest/

While we sit here and insult each other back and forth and attack the sheriff (and every sheriff we had before him, too) there is a real chance we could lose up to 9 contract cities. That would mean a lot of layoffs here. We’d have to find jobs at the cities, many of them don’t have pensions as good as FRS. They are cheaper in benefits too. And Tony’s response to the cities is the kind that pisses them off and makes them want to leave. We are all in very treacherous waters right now.

It’s all politics. The start up costs are astronomical. They will also have to cut down the number of officers and crime will rise immensely. Won’t happen, at most two cities might leave. When the other cities see how badly they fail they will come running to BSO.

Most of them already own the stations & vehicles. They go to 401k’s & save money. Cooper City is already gone. They’ve been wanting to leave for a long time

This is what happens when a broke ass criminal runs a law enforcement agency.

They would be smart to stay FRS to possibly get some deputies from BSO. Tony continues to kill morale by attacking his own deputies and unions. Cities see this and just using costs as a politically correct excuse. Cities do not want deputies scared to do their jobs only to be fired too by this Tony guy. Pembroke Park said it clearly and others are following them out the door. Tony needs to take the advice of his own staff by sitting down with all the unions and start mending relationships by getting all those terminated / suspended deputies back to work AND keeping communication open.

BSO fails to see that they are a provider of services to contract cities. Since Lamberti left, BSO has changed their mindset and truly believe that contract cities must conform to them. That’s not how it works though. Pompano wants the homeless issue addressed on federal hey but BSO has the political opinion that we will not arrest homeless.

Cooper City just want to have control over how many come and go in the city. Why not? Oakland park has it in their contract.

Deerfield wants oversight with money and they should. Half million in the budget for uniforms but everyone is told no money for uniforms

BSO tried telling the unions there was no money for raises years ago until IUPA became the first union to audit BSO and they found millions

Command staff driving luxury SUV’s and for what?

Start up costs wouldn't be astronomical if they contract with FLPD or Davie or Pines or Hollywood, etc. They already have the initial infrastructure in place. This is what they are talking about doing.

So purchase your own vehicles but the. In a few years when the car is deadlined it goes to auction. All proceeds go into the general fund and that money is returned to the count too. They would lose at both ends

The green is a wrap, not paint. They peel it off when they sell off the old units.
