County Budget 2021 Thru 2022
Sheriff's Department represents 47% of the county budget. We will be receiving a 3% raise, same as other county employees. Some employees like in supervisor of elections will only only receive 2.5% raise.
They also predict in the future that property values will decrease again in Lee County which will reduce county revenue significantly. They must just chuckle at CM and his grandstanding. 3% folks, straight facts!

“facts”
If you are talking about “facts” then I suggest you also bring up the 5.9 million CM requested for pay compression. The requested budget also would bring the starting deputy salary to 52k. I guess the definition of “facts” your referencing is selective. There is also however a 3% raise being requested on top of compression. If you educate yourself, read papers, and actually watch the presentation, then you will see what appears to be all the county commissioners on board except for (1), which just lacks the understanding of why this is needed. Just go with the flow, things were really bad financially for years with no raises and everyone made it through. Wait to pass judgment on stuff like this until you see ALL of the true facts.

Yes the sheriffs office is being run like shit! However they have requested pay to be adjusted from deputy to captain! They are trying to push senior officers salaries up to get a proper gap from new hires! Watch the Commissioners video. Yes the sheriffs office is being run into the ground, but maybe a little bit more cash for senior employees sounds good!
