Once again Governor DeSantis is playing politics when it comes to the use of our limited state and local law enforcement personnel. At a time when our interstates and state roads are void of any consistent presence by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), and other local and county agencies, crashes, road rage, and criminal activity are at an all time high. Instead of sending these valuable resources to the border, how about sending them into our crime ridden counties and onto our out of control highways where they can make a difference? Leave border enforcement to those federal agencies, including the National Guard, that have the authority and are properly trained to enforce our federal laws. Once again a flawed decision has come out of the Governor's office.

Huh?! Spoken like a Democrat. The fact is, Biden reversed all of Trump's border policies. That's were the politics started, and the border is out of control because the Biden administration doesn't want Border Patrol, ICE, DHS, etc to do their jobs. The Biden administration is giving illegals and cartels a free pass. And illegals and dope will continue to pour into Florida.

Nobody is going to make you go to the border.

While the grievances about the pay are legit, people are missing the big picture. We won't be able to be troopers at FHP or anywhere if the socialist Democrats take over the country. States like Florida and Texas have to stick together. Illegals must be stopped before the Democrats get them on the voting rolls and its all over.

Don't want to get stuck working calls all day? Volunteer to go. That said, something will have to give with us being so short. Time for the Sheriff's Offices to start working all the parking lot and back road crashes so FHP can maintain the Interstates and State Roads.

And how are they planning to help Texas? This is all political BS. Are they going to catch illegals and give them life in prison? CBP is not deporting anyone as of now so whats the plan? The sheriff does not have powers to deport anyone, thats the Border Patrol's job and they are not doing it.

If we send troopers it would be wise to send Spanish speaking officers. It’s a waste of time to send non speakers due to the huge language barrier. QRF is mostly non Spanish speakers. Nothing bad but it’s a smart move because a non speaker is useless with folks from Central America

So you are telling me that we are going to single out and force the Spanish speaking Troopers to go. Where are we going to send the white Troopers? Portland? QRF is there for this same reason, the name says it all. If you just want to get the 2k per year for free and not do anything, then get the heck out of the QRF, we dont need you. Last time I checked, there were plenty of non-spanish speaking Troopers in Miami and they do just fine. Even the TC in Troop-E is a nonspanish speaking Major.
