You already fired a Deputy Chief and a commander and forced the early retirement of a Major and Executive Assistant. Why not continue by making a Sergeant the next FOD Asst Chief? Someone who actually knows what's going on in patrol as opposed to someone who hasn't been on the road in a decade and is totally disconnected.

Excellent idea. Promote some Sergeants to commander and major positions. Make the know-nothing staff realize it's always been the Sergeants that make or break this department.
