It’s ok John Q. Citizen. Minute men will be willing to stand up to the Biden/Harris socialist agenda to prevent them from indoctrinating your children with their racist curriculum. This country was built be people of all races and ethnicities not from specifically a black perspective. Blacks are part of the history not the entire history.

You're to be commended for at least acknowledging blacks were a part of America's History. That history unfortunately was made on the backs of slaves working for free. Slaves being sold as live cattle and torn from their native land of Africa and their families.

Never really being treated equal and being denied the right to read. This did happen and although it is not taught it is a part of the American History most white people would simply like to forget although they and their relatives then and now have actually profited on those slaves free labor.

To deny anyone the right to be taught their true history is unconstitutional period. To say just forget about slavery, being hung from a tree, burned to death, raped, robbed of your culture and African heritage, is absolutely an insult.

Are things better today, yes it is. Can things be better yes it can. I would never tell a Jew to forget the Holocaust. I would never tell a Cuban to forget about Castro and communism. That is simply wrong. Fix the problem on this country and have a real solution and conversation about what you and others can do to right a wrong that has never really been addressed completely.

I get it, slavery and racism was the law at one point in this country. Most other cultures believed they were better and more superior to blacks because the blacks were slaves in America.

This is the problem. Even DonaldTrump acknowledged Juneteenth. But it would not have mattered what he believed or acknowledge because most white people were not slaves and do not experience racism so they do not want to have that conversation.

Take the time to read the Willy Lench Doctrine.

Not all blacks are criminals. Not all whites are racist. It's just that simple.

That is a fair assessment. On the same note, please acknowledge that slavery seized four generations ago and there is nothing anyone can do today about that travesty. Also, until the early 1960s, the Jim Crow laws were ruthless and caused all kinds of social and criminal issues for blacks. We have moved from that terrible time as well and today every minority whether black or any other is free from the shackles of the past.
Learning about black history is a wonderful thing. We are all proud of Americans such as Jesse Owens, Jackie Robinson and thousands more who suffered and succeeded. The problem white people see with the critical theory education and the 1619 project is that it encourages institutions and the public school system to instruct white kids that their race is inherently evil for the misdeeds of the past. That, is wrong and will never be accepted. We can agree to get along and be part of society not running it but the same as black folks, we will not renegué on our heritage, the places we came from or the heroes who gave us this great nation. I’m sure most people will agree that erasing history is not the answer. We can study it, condemn it but we can’t erase it. Thanks for the reading tip. Will definitely look it up.

Your response is probably how a majority of teachers teach history/social studies, which is a part of the problem. They like to gloss over all of the gritty parts. DeSantis and the other governors can ban CRT, but history can't be re-written, no matter how hard they try.

The trouble you have with the current Social Studies is that some of the founders of this country were slave owners and there lies the crux. You would want Washington and Jefferson erased but if we did there would be no Constitution, no Bill of Rights and definitely not a country. You complain about the flag, the Pledge of Allegiance, the Star Spangled Banner being signs of white oppression but those are the symbols that unite this country. If we discard them there will not be any nation for us to live in. Now the question you have to ask yourself is, are you not better off living in this country than having being born and lived in Africa? Think about that for a while and maybe you will love this country a little more. We can dissent from the sins of the past but destroying the symbols of this country today is just plain anarchy.

It's not about erasure; It's about giving factual, honest accounts of history. Yes, those figures provided the Constitution, etc etc. They've also already received their just due for that. But look at how many laws we've had to change to give just a semblance of equality and equity, even to this day. You're worried about destroying "symbols" when people were literally trying to topple the government just a few months ago (just plain anarchy). Basic human decency goes a long way, but it's clear that that's too much to expect, or ask for. So, yes, people will continue to exercise their Constitutional rights to freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, and freedom to petition the government.
