The best part about the whole thing is that the person they wanted to protect is not even here anymore.

I think they will settle long before it even gets to the discovery phase. Too much embarrassing $hit will come out. Like a certain high ranking man attempting to bed every female recruit who even looks in his direction. Yes we all know who "he" is. No name need be mentioned.

    TPD Affirmative Action

Well that explains how “Ms. Infallible” made it through FTO and would eventually get promoted by that district. Another shining example of how the discriminatory practices of TPD hiring and promoting people strictly because of their race is not fair to anyone involved, especially the minorities hired or promoted that actually earned their job or stripes. It should have been more than apparent that the system was bad when a certain now deceased captain changed his race to Hispanic to get promoted. He is not the only one either, so that alone tells you the disadvantage you have being a non minority or non “alphabet gang” officer at TPD. Side note, it’s a shame Jardi B got shown the door before getting to see the SOP created in her honor. She will now be forever etched in history joining the ranks of other idiots who too have created hundreds of pages of SOP’s for us to sign off on weekly in PDMS.

This kind of conduct has gone on way too long. Staff makes decisions that often violate employment rights, contacts, or are just immoral all the time. Often times, unchallenged. Unfortunately it seems to be the norm, especially lately. That’s not just a negative employee on this forum who thinks that way, these are facts.

Things discussed at staff level are discipline and internal movement just to name a few. Anyone whose ever sat in a staff meeting, knows that every rumor, discipline, transfer, etc is discussed. Just how was this missed, and if it wasn’t, why was it not addressed? That should certainly be just one issue amoung many.

Secondly, didn’t the Chief just fire an officer for discriminatory conduct. Yes, I realize it’s a bit different as Delvin White’s language made it a specific type of discrimination violation however it’s discrimination none the less. If Corporal Fitzgerald is victorious, would the same investigation and potential discipline be applied? If not, would there be any consequence at all? This kind of “do as we say, not as we do” mentality has to stop. It’s absolutely a leadership issue. This is just one of many that can/does destroy morale.

Chief Dugan you allowed this on your watch. If you weren’t aware, you should of been! Maybe you were to busy bashing cops on camera in press releases, screaming and/or ridiculing your staff in meetings, to pay attention. Your leadership model of thinking/deciding things through emotion, loosing your temper, and being sarcastically condescending does not work. The morale here is the worst it’s been in a while, it has everything to do with you.

The point is, this lawsuit brings light to a lot of issues. Things that we, as current officers, and the PBA should be concerned with. Leadership has to be accountable just like everyone if they’re to be respected. Hopefully this could force some well needed change and expose some things that have gone on for way to long.

"Changed his race to Hispanic to get promoted"?? LOL! Happens all the time at HCFR! Just ask that whiny old biotch Fish. Was "white" when he got married, too stupid to get promoted, so became "hispanic".

I think the Major (then Captain) and the A/C are worried now. The fact that the Federal Government is not controlled by the city or TPD means this issue will get a fair hearing. Can't wait until they put them under oath and see what they have to say.

This issue has been throughout my 18 years here. We hire, people, judge people, promote them, assign them and discipline them based on their race, gender, and sexual orientation. Let's start calling back people who are retired and putting them under oath and ask them if promotions are made based on race or ethnicity and see if they have the courage to tell the truth.
