Old: I think there are 6 that have resigned yet.
New: Did they get a new hat and shirt? That should be incentive to FART.
Old: I really thought the wrap on the hot dog trailer would be a recruitment aide too.
New: Well once we institute a FHP style QRT they will be begging to be on the team. That ringing phone is disturbing. Please answer it!!!
    Well, who was it???
Old: We have 5 FART members left.
New: We never had problems like this at FHP
Old: I was over there once. I didn't like it.
New: Where are the keys to the trailer?

    To be continued
New: This exercise is spinning up! We must virtually activate the RLETC! Did you find the trailer keys?
Old: I found a virtual set so we should be GTG.
    New: GTG? What's that?
Old: Good To Go. Standard abbreviation. Used a lot by police officers.
New: We didn't use it in QRT.
Old: Like I said, used a lot by police.
New: We will continue this later.
Old: Ring me up. I will be on my virtual phone...

    To be continued....

I agree, employee’s kids are off limits. Besides, is she not entitled to employment like any other person? Remember when the the former Captain of Orlando had unreported secondary employment as a camper counselor and was allowed to stay with a demotion? That’s funny and sad!

Posting salary information about government employees is not off limits. Welcome to Florida.

    Corkie,
Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
Everyone is aware of the affront to every state employee during the reign of Skellator.
His disdain for the little people and the actions of his mindless lemming-like toadies still lingers like a fart.
    Don't be a "Rick"

That logic is harder to follow than one of your case reports.

New: I have analyzed the data. There is room for improvement within our team. If we are to be recognized as the best we must train and implement our training. We must perform as a team.
Old: You don't understand the purpose. You see, we HAVE to contribute to the emergency response. There are no qualifications. You just show up and guard MRE's, ice, damaged property of you tube influencers, etc.
New: Well where I came from we did more than that. We directed traffic in 12 lane intersections in 100 degree heat while looking sharp. The guys that didn't sweat through their uniforms escorted dignitaries around the damaged area for photo ops.
Old: Now that is advancing the BRAND!
    New: I sense sarcasm.
    Old: You are very perceptive
New: What about training as a team? How many times a year do we do that?
Old: Training? We ain't got no training! We don't got to do no training!
New: You can't improve without training.
Old: Improve what? The ability to set on a fixed post for 12 hours while watching Netflix on the iPad? Figuring out where the best free meals are? For that we just follow a trooper. You need to know we have team members that can't change a flat, have never slept in a car, washed in a bucket, crapped in the woods, eaten from a bag, we even have members that want to leave their posts early to get to some personal obligation. We have members that have never slept on a cot! We even have members that have to stop what they are doing to make a smoothie! To add to the dismal skill level, we have members that have never started a chain saw or a generator, checked their oil in the car and that is just the males!
I would work on getting the right team before training the right team.
    New: WTH?

You get what you pay for. 39k to start.

The team is broken and needs a total revamp. Everyone thought Jarvis was the man he wasn’t. Subdued patches? Yeah thanks bud how about a fluent plan on how we will operate. Kaki bdu blouses? How about dry fit t shirts like every other agency wears during a call out in the heat. He turned this into his own little desert storm unit and everyone knows it.

Who remembers the last go around? We filled the empty spots by appointing the most junior guys to the team. That says a lot about your team when no one wants to be on it and you have to appoint people. He’ll even the LTs want nothing to do with it.

Who remembers his statement “I put in for every srt member to get an explorer and Jerome will make it happen.”

Ok we can’t even get a pickup truck which is about 10k cheaper on state contract then an explorer.
