So now that the Pride paprade has banned police officers in NYC from participating in their parade thru 2025 and they must stay one block off of the route as not to be visible, what are we going to do? I think we should respect the wishes of the Parade here in Tampa as well

They don't need to ban us from participating. From the looks of it, they can't get enough Officers to fill the OD positions as it is. Better keep sending out those emails Major.

We should all refuse to work OD for this nonsense. Why subject oneself to the BS that’s likely to result working if some Pride Parader is offended by us for some reason?

You should refuse to work this, or any OD, because (1) the rates are a joke and (2) every time you put that uniform on you are no longer just risking personal safety but your career and possibly your freedom and for what? There is a reason a lot of these places have to hire armed police. Why expose yourself more than you have to?
