The other one is just a pure prick and enjoys belittling you and is all about writing you up for something first choice when he can. Both of these guys are very smart, but have terrible personalities and should have never been put in a position to lead or supervise people. The one LT. that was good and has a decent personality didn't want the job due to the micromagnet and stress they put on you here decided out of it. We need help here.
That Cpl. is may be drunk, but I have to agree with his post.

First line and mid level supervisors that don't show up to work and are always self serving, add significantly to the low morale and toxicity here. Our Sergents and Corporals should be creating a buffer for us and should be shielding us from any of the political BS they deal with (that's what they get paid for). But when my Sergent/Corporal can't make it to work, or they vent to the entire squad about how much they hate this place and can't stand their boss, ultimately, I hate this place too. The problems they are paid to deal with roll right down to the working level guy/gal, who already deal with enough stress on the job as it is. Our retired on duty Sergeants and Corporals need to step up or step down. It's easy for them to blame their bosses for the issues here and at what point do we start start blaming them for their contributions to the problem!
You need to put your time in on the job here before you can start running your mouth and running others down. Put your time in here on the job, then you can start your griping of the people that work here on the job. Will you even make it to that time on the job...you are a weak person.

Despite being more educated, diverse and confident, mil*lennials are screwed on this job. A lot have school debt and are angry at the people working in the same job/career that they do, but don't make as much, but refuse to put in the time on to the job to eventually earn it...they want it now. The same as Gen X were pissed off that the previous- earlier Gen X and the Baby Boomers got a good step plan pay raise and great benefits from the DROP, a 3% Cost of Living from the State of Florida, and not having to pay in 3% towards retirement which was previously payed by the state. Before Rick Scott screwed it all over. Now the Millennials have a worse retirement from the State on this job to deal with. Gen Z is probably totally screwed on this job without any hope of retirement. This place needs to start hiring 19yr olds so they can even have a hope of a decent retirement. Otherwise, get out and go to a police department that has a 20yr retirement.

Always positions coming open here people, you need to be ready for it. Wondering why the big guy with the gobble gobble mouth didn't show up for the annual test as he said he was?

It is a continuous cycle. The pay will keep up with the surrounding agencies for so long, and then they get way behind. People will leave the job for other agencies. Then the the University will give a huge starting pay raise to starting employees that are eager to take a job, but then they will be be making a little less than the person that has been working here for the last 8 yrs. A Continuous Cycle here.
