Why do we gave two (2) Motors Sergeant's that don't supervise anyone?

There's one Motor Sergeant on Dayshift (SMT) that has zero officers under him daily. And there's another on Noons (TFS) with zero officers under him daily. Yet, the K9 Sergeant has to pull down double duty with a full patrol squad to supervise plus the K9 unit. Excellent inept allocation of resources!!!

Just like we have two sergeants in training, two sergeants in Human trafficking, and two sergeants in PEU!? Until this day, I don’t understand this.

Who cares this place is a joke I don’t care about the cities problems IE traffic homeless crime I could care less. I’m only here to get paid this place is a disaster from city hall to the police department. City commissioners run the city the chief is cracking under the pressure. Our patrol Major is out of his mind our captains Are a bunch of chicken shits in full panic mode over everything. I love watching it fall apart.

The two motor sergeants have ONE purpose at this agency... And that is to ensure that the patrol sergeants don't get any overtime. They are here 40 hours a week, on standby and doing nothing, in case a patrol sergeant is off to fill their spot so the department doesn't have to hire an overtime sergeant.

check the sheets or listen to the radio, they are "usually" assigned a zone, which has units to supervise.

Well, the rest of us aren't "Usually" working a zone!! The rest of us work a zone every day!! Must be nice to only have to go 09 and work a zone "Usually", yet get paid to work the full week.

The two motor sergeants have done their time as supervisors they are being screwed as well. It’s not their fault that they have been put in a bad position. They are motor sergeants and I’m sure that’s what they would rather do. This is another example of poor planning and poor decision making by our out of touch command staff and for sure our Patrol Major who is way out of his league as a command staff member. Not only are the motor sergeants being screwed but so are the motor officers and the patrol officers in area 1. None of these issues have anything to do with anyone except the poor decision makers at the top.

My man if you think Motor Sergeants want to work a zone you are an idiot. They were out there because Chief 4300’s got hurt when the Union would not voluntarily give in the 3 day work week. Don’t hate the player bit ch!

When I heard that this topic had come up on this blog I was hoping that it was in good taste. But as usual I see that some people have issues with things that are outside of our control. We did not ask to be put back in patrol in fact we fought against it, but the 4th floor gets final say. I will happily take back my unit and go back to traffic enforcement and open up the space for zone units. I will also work a zone with the patrol guys when needed. Again we didn’t ask for you this and I am fully against the idea. I like to think that I have shown myself to be as approachable as possible. With that, please reach out to me and I will be more than happy to break down the details of what has led to our current positions. Thanks
