An additional question here is why did the officer have to continually deal with this repeat offender day in and day out? If you lived in the neighborhood, this officer is dealing with this with this guy, and Willie, and all the others they tell their buddies. It was a problem there with the homeless at that Publix. #1
#2 - Ben Carson came into town during Trump term and wrote a big check to the Chapman to deal with this

Why aren't we solving this problem? Why are we pushing it on police? Answers needed.
Black officer on black crime saved only one argument, we are still left with a foundational issue. Who,s job is this in the county/city/community? Failures thru the cracks while still pointing fingers....need answers on homelessness in Florida

Not condoning his re-active actions here
But should police pressures be constant?
Meaning, Levels of crime occur, incidents occur, but a daily grind with same folks doing the same crime daily has a point, no?
Bless the prison guards health as well.
Shamed, tested, and pushed to the edge on a daily basis from the same people has to have a keen supervisor eye on the ball and pulse for these environments in care of officer.
Crime is not easy to fight, but when it's homeless related there has to be a relief effort on this for specialty officers to call on.
An officer called to act must know his resources at hand before they engage.
Crimes by the Homeless are a subset for specialty detail. Police Training isn't enough, character demeanor, relief and rotation , and mental health social workers on demand should be on site.
Fed agencies hire specifically for these needs and so should a world class city like Miami going forward.

Reading a majority of these comments it seems like it's either the new and upcoming generation of cops that have already given up and submitted to the scary black delinquents who know they can have their way without consequences.

Homelessness, has always been pushed off onto the police. The elected officers, are all concerned when something goes sideways. To fix the problem, I have a easy answer. Round up your homeless and drop them near the mayor's home and where all the fat cats live and outside city hall, have them make a tent city. Being homeless isn't a police issue problem, till they do something against the law. Of course some here want to be a team player and round them up, for points with the department. Years ago, their was a 10 sector officer that got a rip and hours, cause he wouldn't arrest people for being homeless, for no reason except to please staff. He would drive them to B.B and 87th St and point North. Soon the Country complained and some of them would drive them to N.E. 2nd and point South. It's not a crime to be poor and have no place to live. Sadly, most of us here are only a paycheck or two from being homeless.

Let's say he isn't homeless, bc we have already provided assistance for a roof over his head.
Now we are just left with him knowing right from wrong.
Publix needs their parking lot swept, their garbage hauled out, their sidewalks washed, and the their landscaping prepped. All outside of the store.
Mgr of Publix, Chief of Police, and the Officer offended kindly meets with him and offers him his community service deal in payback.
Who knows, he may decide to stay on part time.....
