I take the vote to release all third-degree felony and below out of the jail and allow them to roam the streets. It seems like the no bail no arrest policy would help the staffing shortage at the jail. What say you???

That would be the end of Car1's political career in this state. He'd have to move to Portland or Minneapolis.

The jail is short staffed because it has a long history of mismanagement. It has been headed by people who lack the experience to run a jail and more importantly to manage the deputies who work there. There is no light at the end of the tunnel unless something drastic happens to clean out the place. But it looks like nobody cares including the sheriff. So it is time for a new sheriff.

Escape from a yard, coincidence? Or bad chain of command? Gee I wonder.

I heard we were supposed to get a free catering service for staff dining? That would help morale,,or was it bs rumors?

The "catering" will be food trucks in the parking lots so you can buy food during the 30 minute meal breaks without leaving the jail compound.

The Sheriff wants people who will stand by with there head down and mouth closed. Jail staff are not allowed to be leaders or so the job correctly or they will be investigated on some trumped up charges. The current administration violates the Office Bill of Rights to get rid of anyone that does not go under the desk.. you would think it would have gotten better once DS left since he was the real ring leader of making up fake investigations. Now that most of people that actually know how to control that place are gone it maybe next to impossible to gain back what has been lost.

Not completely impossible but close. The right leadership with the right tools could bring the Morale back but this administration is afraid of having deputies with their own minds. So here is the cross road……

The first step to resolving the jail staffing crisis is to return to 8 hour shifts. This is one of the main complaints and reasons why so many deputies are leaving. The current jail management is clueless and tells Car1 what he wants to hear because they are scared of him and what he might do when the staffing crisis reaches his desk. He is going to ask what is he paying them the big bucks for if they can't fix the staffing problem which is draining the overtime budget. It's a choice: either take on the problem head on or risk demotions. Highly doubtful that they are smart enough to figure this out.

12s blow. Car 1 didn’t want them from the start but all the rookies cried and got them. They are $hit in patrol

Patrol should be able to vote on 12s vs 8s and choose whatever is best for them. Or 8s and 10s like SPPD.

As for the jail, 12s are hated by nearly everyone and failed in two previous votes. The alleged savings never materialized but the mandatory OT is skyrocketing.
