    District VI?

Because of all the growth in the south end of the county I’ve heard this could happen. But is this actually a real possibility?

Real possibility? No, not in the foreseeable future.

Yeah. It’s possible, but it has nothing to do with growth, call volume, caseload, or population. Once they run out of non-front line safe positions for the favorites and high paying high rank positions for political friends and family, they will creat a 6th district. AKA, a 6th set of brass but the same exact amount of deputies on the street. Same exact size pie, just cut in more slices.

Think back when D5 was created. A 5th set of brass and commanders, but the same exact amount of units on the street as before with only 4 districts. In fact! Worse. Because they had to promote so many people for all the D5 supervisor command and brass openings. Not to mention and entirely new admin department.

Even more worse, they got rid of the county wide mid shift to fill 5 district so no relief for day shift and no help during peak hours for night shift. A three year nightmare that caused so many to resign. Now they brought back this agonal breathing lame attempt at a mid shift. Which resulted in they typical solution to all problems. Create more supervisor positions.

If they truly cared, they would take fully staffing us as they did creating the 5th district or deploying body cameras in like one month. When this agency really wants something done, it does it. There is still no emergency system activated for hiring. Recruiter “detectives” still doing their walks around the building and only a few academies a year.

So to answer you question, yes, they just might, but no, not for the reasons you think, and yes we would suffer for it, and no, staffing shortages are not a priority and full staffing us is the real solution to our problems, not more buildings, more secretaries, or more brass... More districts.

They can care less about the growth or the burnout it’s causing.

Still crying about D5?? Get over it bro. Try this...concentrate on doing your job and some self improvement for a month or so. Start working on improving your situation instead of pissing and moaning that you’re not one of the chosen. If you can’t do that, move on and start a new career. You’re not shackled to the Sheriffs Office. We’re not all going to be a Major. That’s life.

Exactly! Politics are in EVERY WORKPLACE and everyone can't always be the Major. If you're not getting ahead like you think you should be, AND have done everything to be that person who stands out educationally/certifications, have a decent can-do, positive attitude, then maybe this is just not the place for you.

Take your degree and experience and find a place where you'll be happy. Many employers do not care what a 4 year degree is in, just as long as it's a degree. The people experience we gain here is a great fit to transition to high paying sales jobs. Sometimes it takes a few jobs to find a good fit - and there is no shame in that.

I’m in D4. Not D5. Thanks for the advice, but that’s what little do boy robots like you do for recognition so you can transfer out of the real job into a nicely protected one. I speak my mind. When D5 was created, we lost more people to D5 than area we cover. Not to mention no more mid shift. D4 Big Bend is as bad as a major city now with traffic and crashes. The apartment complexes being built at any given time is staggering. People are flooding here. The county and agency is raking in the dough. Where are our deputies? We are beyond short. Also, fukc you... bro. Aint no bros here. Just brown nosing robots, fast trackers, and the ones who refuse to play the game while so many kick back in offices enjoying a nice high paying career while the so many risk their lives on short handed squads.
