    RDS thoughts

So a buddy of mine works for PPPD and he told me they are getting RDS’s(red dot sights) for all patrol handguns. Anyone had any experience with them? Seems that’s how a lot of agencies are going for the future.

    Figured I’d get some thoughts

That really sucks for your buddy. (That he works for PPPD.)

Since most gun fights occur within five feet, RDS probably won’t really matter. I’ve had decked out handguns and rifles, now I keep my guns as simple as I can. I have our standard issued firearm with issued gun light and a basic ar15 with only stock iron sights.

I’m not sure RDS will really be a game changer in the trailer parks and slums in Pinellas Park.
