If your agency needs a union, there’s only one real qualification- the ability to get things done! Unless your union has the funding and the fortitude to use it for the membership, it’s all a waste of time. Here in central Florida most of the units have switched over from the PBA to IUPA. IUPA has a modernized business model that puts labor attorneys at the negotiations table. It also has a “fighting” mentality when it comes to the members. Where the PBA and FOP will mollycoddle and kiss up to management, IUPA fights for its dues payers. Recently they just got Volusia County Sheriff’s Office its largest raise in the agencies history. The PBA in this area, like the FOP, are completely ineffective.

You can play around with the same old tired and worn out unions who do business with one eye on the checkbook...or you can give IUPA a chance. In Florida, we have helped many departments in getting greater benefits and higher wages. Seeing is believing...but don’t just take my word, call someone from Sarasota PD, New Smyrna Beach PD, Deland PD, Orange City PD, Port Saint Lucie PD, Broward County SO, Indian River SO, Volusia County SO, St. Lucie County SO, or any other of the dozens of IUPA affiliated departments. In addition, when you’ve finished talking to them, give IUPA a call. Like the old saying- if you keep doing what you’ve been doing, you’ll keep getting what you’ve been getting.
Change, it’s in the air.

Give me a call for more information.
