How dumb does it look to have dark tinted windows on the patrol vehicles then write citations to the general public for the same thing? He has no license under the law once you refuse. But it's ok he can continue to break the law and drive because it's in an agency issued vehicle. Remember the same vehicles we the tax payers pay for and insure via the tax dollars. So when he gets into a crash and hurts or kills someone while driving illegally the tax payers get to pay the lawsuit. Yup that sounds about right. Great job CM for putting us in this situation.
Reading statute too hard for you, bud? Policy must be over your head, then. Can't just google search that. LEO patrol veh are exempt from tint laws.

I think you need to check the statute. It actually says, "The department shall exempt all law enforcement vehicles used in undercover or canine operations from the window sunscreening requirements of ss. 316.2951-316.2957."

So, patrol vehicles are NOT exempt from tint laws.

Unfortunately for you the window tinting business we use will not tint the marked vehicles window under the legal limit. They are right at the legal limit of which is dark enough.
