That what you think. Your absolutely wrong. The People on here just want to point out all the wrong doings that mr Ortiz has committed and he needs to be held accountable for his actions.

Maybe his action did not rise to the level of criminality (that’s questionable) but his action are definitely unbecoming an officer. He is bounded by the same rules as every other officer in the police department.

It obvious the chief was told / orders to bring back Capt Ortiz. For what reason it to be determined and as to the reason why, that answer will be forth coming.

It obvious the commissioners, the mayor and the city manager are all fighting with each other to see who the next chief should be. The civil war at city hall and within the police department is on and a reality.

The bottom line a new chief should be selected, preferably an outsider, one that doesn’t owe any favor to anyone and let that person be completely objective and autonomous.

Let that person do what’s need to be done for the good of the department, the city and the community!

But the entire staff is to blame and they are equally liable because they all had a duty to report and a duty to intervene not only as officers but a staff members.

Anything else is just a waste of time, with the same end results!

Morale of the story, keeping kicking the can instead of just picking up the can and throwing it out.

Billy and Danny It’s about time the community gets involved and Petitions the city commissioner to bring in an outside chief. Miami PD is rotten to the core and need a deep cleaning. A leader with New vision new direction that has credibility and desire for change.

Miami PD current staff members are to lazy, who won’t act, won’t intervene and won’t do the right thing.

Look into a Sgt. Justin GarcIa I believe he has a reprimand for falsifying signatures on an arrest affidavit which is conduct unbecoming of an officer and immoral character. This should be sent to CJSTC. Javi do you know about this reprimand for untruthfulness. Public records request.
