    If they move forward with that idea, it will destroy the recruitment ability of law enforcement agencies, which already have a tough time finding new hires for a tough job. It will further create a disincentive for law enforcement officers in Florida to remain for the full length of their careers.

    Do what we do for a year, or less because most don't last, then you will find out the importance of having that pension. It is the reason... 25 years ago.... I became a COP! When comparing apples to oranges..this chosen field was the sweetest...since it brought the most benefit at the end of the game of cops, robbers, and politics.

    Yea!!! Obviously hates cops. Hates us cops so much, he wants to develop a plan to overhaul FRS. FRS, the retirement system for ALL county and state employees. Hates cops so much, but also must hate teachers, electricians, park employees, waste management, librarians, accountants, secretaries, janitors, dmv, crossing guards, school nurses, on and on. Or maybe he likes all those people, but will change their retirement system just to get at the cops he hates so much. It isn’t always about us.

    Exactly.County, State, and Federal employees want a pension, not some version of a 401K.
