Unlike most, I saw the writing on the wall years ago and left FDC for a large county jail where the pay and benefits are much better. Who is the retard now?

It's a mission of mercy and charity to try to save a few decent people who might be able to get hired by a county jail. The others are toxic waste like you so county jails don't want them. They don't deserve better jobs and should remain at FDC for life because the like the misery, abuse and low pay.

If you feel like he's "rubbing it in" that he moved to greener pastures then why would you remain with the FDC? Anybody with at least a fraction of a brain knows there's zero benefit to staying with the department long term.

Hell, the average jail pays enough that if you left the FDC immediately after being certified and had to pay them back for the training costs, you would still come out ahead that year. Even after the shitty raises people with YEARS in their service are making less than recruits literally anywhere else.

Little podunk counties start at 40k and bigger ones are 10k more. Why bother wasting years of your life to be a Lt. or P&P Supervisor in the worst corrections agency in the country while making the same as a newbie deputy/officer pay literally anywhere else. FDC is for people who have no drive to do better and it shows in the administration and its officers.

No, someday the state will screw you when it freezes the pension and switches everyone to the 401k. They are too cheap to cough up the money for pay parity with even the lowest paying county jails so don't put it past them to stop the pensions. Then you have to work until Social Security age (62) to retire, with a meager pension and whatever you accumulated in your 401k. As if there is spare money to put in it. So that's why I applied everywhere until I snagged a county jail job which pays more.
