After working here a good number of years and having a bit of rank, one can't help but watch in awe at the level of blatant corruption in this administration. It is unprecedented, over the top. It is pervasive within the agency culture and widely accepted, and used by practically everyone trying to go up in the ranks. The job has become 2nd priority because so many people want to get a desk and wear their badge on their belts while their handcuffs and guns are rusted or inoperative from lack of use. This sort of groupthink has promoted a selfish, self-centered mentality in which promotions are the only things which matter.

The D&C Lt. who stole Bob's opponent's campaign signs was demoted to Sgt. and given a 3 year probation. She got her Lt. bars back while still on probation and her pay was never cut. Quid pro quo corruption is standard procedure in Bob's administration. They don't even try to hide it. But if you are not in his clique and you screw up you are toast.

Why not a voluntary demotion to for go a full blown IA. I guess that doesn’t work anymore. If you don’t have a pay grade to give you would have to be fired. Thus giving people of rank a pass. Just an observation but the system dealing with punishment is unfair and subjective at best.

Whatever happened to all these promises Bob Gualtieri made of transparency, accountability, personal responsibility and a level playing field on which everyone is treated equally under General Orders? The end of the "good old boy system". The promises are all in the General Orders but he is violating those rules with impunity. No wonder his administration has no credibility and respect with the troops. We need a sheriff who can come here and clean up this hot bed of corruption.

There IS transparency. Transparency is utilized when someone, NOT connected, gets into trouble. Those individuals whole life is thrown to the media who eats it up. Then you are subject to the grueling IA investigation and it goes downhill from there. Reverse the last statement completely for those that are connected, family, dynasty. They will cover it up and there will most likley never be an investigation. That is how they can honestly say they are transparent.
