That must be the dumbest thing ever!! Exactly. Why can’t you use accruals ???????

Cpl. LaVigne wouldn’t have cared if they were his last 2 minutes on patrol. If deputies were calling for help, he was responding, and for that he will be immortalized as the Hero he was. May god bless his soul and reward him with a blissful eternity amongst his angels for his ultimate selfless sacrifice.

    Understood....however HE'LL TO THE NAH!!!!
He should of never ever had been forced to push a green and white the last 2 weeks of his career.

If he hid his soon to be retirees their last 2 weeks then that is a big fuking clue that he too felt the same!!!! OFF THE STREETS THE LAST 2 WEEKS.

Change the damn policy Donna and Chad or send us the LEGAL reason behind the sudden change YOU MADE last year. We all remember the memo but don't recall the reason!!!

    Chad remember it is pronounced
    LA VINE.....NOT Leveene!!!

That policy has been in affect for more than five years. Maybe it was modified last year but it has been 2 weeks for a long time. Obviously there is a reason, I just don’t know it. Sure wish someone would update us.

The Corporal's murder was a horrible tragedy that could have happened at any time.

How about we stop obsessing with the superstitions. They serve no purpose and make some people anxious for no valid reason.

They have to hold the positions open until the supervisor is officially off the books. They could solve it by putting a Detective or Admin. Cpl. or Sgt. on TDY to fill the slots so the retiring supervisors could burn their accruals and not tempt fate.

I don’t think the sop specifies a specific rank.

Do your own research on the OFFICER DOWN PAGE.
In 2007, when I was a rookie, Sgt. RON Harrison, was another one that was murdered within a week of his retirement....here at hcso.. .

Thank you for your service AND thank God you made it out in one piece.

But, for you to take offense to what the original poster wrote only tells us you were probably one of the office types that had the luxury of having an office and out of touch with the bread and butter grunts of ANY agency.

    RIP BRIAN.
On the same street as Brian. About a mile apart. Lumsden Road in Brandon. Which is patrolled, if you can even call it that, by one of the lowest manned squads with barely any mid shift units. How smart is that?

Because nobody gives a crap about this county’s cops. Especially this state. The state Benefits by us dying. More money in the FRS pot. This is why the liability and fault of many issues our state should be handling falls on us. And our sheriffs not only allow it, they wants it. For a fatter budget.

Think about is.... Baker Act a crazy dangerous moron, but with not enough probable cause and we get sued. Don’t Baker act and they kill themselves or others and we get sued. YET, Baker act someone, the hospital lets them go 4 hours later, and no liability on them. Blame us yet nobody looks at the state and asks why we do not institutionalize. The Baker Act was designed for Doctors and psychotherapist. Highly educated people with 8 year doctoral degrees and countless hours in residency, yet it has been allowed for them to call us and send us to the home of a client for US to evaluate because during their session, the client said they wanted to kill themselves. Dump it on us yet we are the LEAST QUALIFIED. Then when we shoot crazy people, we get blamed and have to take on all this cit crap. Send someone else then.

It’s all a scam. Same with these cop funerals. All a joke. So much support and pretty lights and so many people out of the woodwork. Helicopter fully overs and all that fake crap. Yet, half staffed squads. Where are all those people when we need them when we are going to a dangerous call alone with back up 20 minutes away? Why was Brian not working a desk?

6 motorcycle units escorting the MEO van. Where is all that show of force on the street where we really need all those office jockeys to be. Fake fukcs. All a show.

Had they or anyone cared, he would still be alive.

Hahahahahah! They could have put him on the desk. I have seen this agency pull worse sneaky garbage for command staffers.

Do a little digging and research the majors that have retired here that were promoted to colonel for one day. The last day of work. Just so they can get free medical insurance the rest of their lives. How about that? And the last 2 weeks on a desk is too much to ask? Fukc this agency and how crooked it is when it comes to its big wigs while being strict and merciless on us.
