Think about is.... Baker Act a crazy dangerous moron, but with not enough probable cause and we get sued. Don’t Baker act and they kill themselves or others and we get sued. YET, Baker act someone, the hospital lets them go 4 hours later, and no liability on them. Blame us yet nobody looks at the state and asks why we do not institutionalize. The Baker Act was designed for Doctors and psychotherapist. Highly educated people with 8 year doctoral degrees and countless hours in residency, yet it has been allowed for them to call us and send us to the home of a client for US to evaluate because during their session, the client said they wanted to kill themselves. Dump it on us yet we are the LEAST QUALIFIED. Then when we shoot crazy people, we get blamed and have to take on all this cit crap. Send someone else then.

It’s all a scam. Same with these cop funerals. All a joke. So much support and pretty lights and so many people out of the woodwork. Helicopter fully overs and all that fake crap. Yet, half staffed squads. Where are all those people when we need them when we are going to a dangerous call alone with back up 20 minutes away? Why was Brian not working a desk?

6 motorcycle units escorting the MEO van. Where is all that show of force on the street where we really need all those office jockeys to be. Fake fukcs. All a show.

Had they or anyone cared, he would still be alive.
    Cool story bro

If you want to be able to burn your last two weeks, so "you don't temp fate" Then wouldn't the two weeks before those last two weeks, be tempting fate? Hell, aren't you tempting it, from day #1. When it's your time, its time...

Two weeks, why two weeks? Why so you reference two weeks, because the sop references two weeks. How about a month, or two, or three? What’s the magic timeframe? Real cops don’t run from danger, they fight the good fight, and don’t run from danger. That sop is violated routinely. I bet if Brian had wanted to take off, they probably would have let him. Many, many, many want to be there, hold their head high, and walk out proud of their contribution to their career. I know Brian. I am fairly certain that he chose to work hand in hand with his squad. He was a proud lawman. What happened to him was a tragedy . It can happen the first day or the last.

Amen! If you don't feel like you can handle that stress, then find another career path. We have many fine people here, and more wanting to be a part of our team.

How about we stop obsessing with the superstitions. They serve no purpose and make some people anxious for no valid reason.
Biblical superstition. Just look at any officer down page.

Hopefully your last 2 weeks will not leave your family with without a father...a husband...a brother...those last 2 weeks may choke you out of your last breath. Those last 2 weeks you chose to dismiss to defend those that sit behind the protection of their fancy desks. Those last 2 weeks. Smh!!

Do a little digging and research the majors that have retired here that were promoted to colonel for one day. The last day of work. Just so they can get free medical insurance the rest of their lives. How about that? And the last 2 weeks on a desk is too much to ask? Fukc this agency and how crooked it is when it comes to its big wigs while being strict and merciless on us.
I know of at least 2 in my 10 years of service.

Superstitions are a slap in the face of Hod. It's a sign you don't trust and believe in Him.
