How is it whining when some are getting OT some are getting extra duty pay while they are forcing the rest to flex? But hey isn’t that what makes TPD great?

It's the Terrible Planning Department. Only found out about hosting it 4 years ago.

So now a few days out and people are getting different time slots each day and assignments. So we have no idea how to plan out things like child care and jump through hoops because of lack of planing. Not trying to whine but we had years and here are figuring things out with our spouses and family. Another morale killer at TPD and staff could care less.

This department is acting like the NFL called last week and said that the game would be played here.

Being short staff by sixty cops is also catching up to us as well.

TPD sucks BIG time. The only thing that keeps most of us here is the pay and the pension.

The acting chief of police said in an email on Jan 20th

If you were selected for an assignment, you can expect your game day assignment packet in your email on January 21, 2021.

Well its now Jan 28th and no packet so guess what I have made other plans.

Just grab one of the many extra duty jobs posted if it is your day off and you are all set. Most are over before the game starts and you can be home to watch the game. They aren't going to pull you feom the extra duty job. Saw some yesterday paying over $50/hr which is close to OT and you wont have to deal with the super bowl drama

That’s thing some of us can’t just sit around and wait. We have outside work commitments with family. They are saying all hands on deck so those of us with spouses that work for the dept need to know to make plans. It’s not like this is a hurricane and civil unrest that comes out of no where. If we’re working let us know so we can make plans for child care and things like that. That’s why some of us work opposite cycles. It’s not easy to find some of this stuff for a Sunday. Get your crap together you have had years of planing.
