Every major intersection has one or several. It's ridiculous, wait until a citizen gets robbed or hurt. Anyone that wants to work can find a job. Apply at the Sheriff's department, they hire anyone these days.

The longer you ignore the law and allow the panhandling the bigger the problem is getting. There are very few major intersections that aren’t being over run by them. Soon Lee County will be as bad as the east coast and north of us.

    Just do your Jobs!!!

There are actually people who think the professional panhandlers are homeless, and need their money.
Folks have a conversation with them, these are opportunist looking for a free ride.
They make the county look like its hobo central. Its time to enforce the laws in 2021.

    Problem

The problem with arresting panhandlers is that federal judges say panhandlers have a constitutional right to beg. Cops who violate those rights get to be sued.

    This isn’t physics...
Make an example out of one that we know is scamming people and maybe some public embarrassment will mitigate some of the others and deter the rest of the clan.
Would t it be nice if the media did some investigative journalism for once.

Maybe you should spend less time on video games and more time reading about whats happening in your community.

Yes great article. I did miss that one while I was playing video games. Have there been anymore I missed being detached from the “news”?! Perhaps this investigative journalism and this one article led to the increase in people on the street corners after reading how much money is being made.

Maybe the Command staff that sit in the substations could go out and deal with the panhandlers? Especially since they don't pose safety risk and aren't dangerous!
