The decay
1 Society destroys, fires, suspends, defunds and don't backup those who protect them and decrease their benefits to have a semi-dignified life.
2 Those who protect society seek to protect themselves and their families avoiding career enders or unnecessary trauma by a weak command against bad actors or other burocracies, i.e. The Airport Command, weaker than TSA, BCAD, the mighty detail office with the all powerful clam. Deputies are left on their own and nobody has their backs.
3 Burocrats dictate policies from their desk and no effective change occurs. Just more pressure that diminishes quality of life on the protectors.
4 Citizens continue to have no respect for the law and much less those who enforce the law. All the way from traffic laws, driving like lunatics to violent crimes in broad daylight.
5 Criminals take advantage and occupy the void creating an all time rise in violent crimes against good citizens and some if the scumbags who want to destroy the the police.
6 People live in fear, property value decreases, because people don't want to live in a place with poor safety and security. Retirees rerire somewhere else for the lack of safety. For crying out loud this is a retirement State and if you can provide safety against crooks and protecting your protectors, what do you think is going to happen in the long run?

7 Property value will decrease and tax revenues wont be there for those who need them the most.

8 Business feel the pinch and gradually increases from a pinch to a full punch due eto lack of safety to conduct business, lack of safety for employees and business owners.

Back full cycle to number 1 and so it repeats itself.

Those who were suspended during the pre-election and most of those who were fired to pander certain groups, this would be a be a good place to start.
