Why would you hope to work for this dump of an agency

Would you recommend FHP coming from NYPD ?

Not really looking to answer calls for service such as domestics for example.

Having a take home car, riding around giving tickets and answering vehicle accidents doesn't sound to bad.

If you are OK with going from crash to crash and doing nothing but reports, you'll love it. If you want to do anything proactive, forget it. You're AAA with a gun.

Don’t forget to go gun shopping on duty and make a “lunch break” at the Krispy Kreme

Quit whining about the FHP car you saw in front of a gun store months ago. WTF is wrong with you? Next time go inside and talk to him. You do know, we carry several firearms as our equipment, right? We are supposed to maintain them and be proficient with them. We also handle follow up investigations, keep somewhat informed on what firearms and accesories are on the market etc, the weapons the bad guys carry. Yes, as odd as it may seem to you, LEO's can and do go to gun stores. Get used to it, or find another line of work.

    How does this sound?
Take home unmarked car, not dispatched by radio to calls for service, several counties to roam in, not a first response agency, no close supervis, work your assigned complaints, very narrow area of responsibility (561-569 and 210, F.S) same high risk retirement as FHP, clothing allowance, plain clothes, etc.
ABT is loaded with retirees fleeing states like NY and NJ.
    Low speed, no drag.

My sister worked for ABT. We always told our Dad she was an escort. We wanted to spare him from further embarrassment after learning she graduated from FSU.
