Internal Affairs and the media and city hall will definitely be notified of the quotas that the chief and commanders are forcing or suggesting for supervisors to implement.

We have all been instructed to avoid unnecessary citizen contact in lieu of this contagious covid 19 virus. Unnecessary traffic stops will be avoided and social distancing from co workers is still in effect. Co workers assigned to function together or ride in same vehicles will wear their face masks at all times with no deviation from this rule. No supervisor is authorized to force or implement for one to break this rule. FOP has been made aware certain superiors asking for officers to be proactive during these times.

El timba meant night. All night in his car. And it’s very true. He would always complain about everything, speak very loud and sleep during the night. Also smoke them cigars in uniform violating departmental rules and regulations.

When will "supervisors" learn that arrests and citations are not metrics for measuring, evaluating subordinate officers' performance? They are tools of the vocation; no different than your Glocks, Radios, etc. . . Rather, "supervisors" should demand patrol officers handle calls for service expeditiously, and in greater numbers per shift, whether or not responding officers write a report or not. Besides, such demands violate FSS 316.640 Enforcement, Intent, Letter, and Spirit.

    (8) TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT AGENCY. (3) MUNICIPALITIES
    (b) A traffic enforcement agency may not establish a traffic citation quota. [at its very bottom cites]

Advice, ignore commanders' demands for enforcement productivity. Besides, enforcement creates conflict, conflict generates use of force, use of force generates complaints, and in the era of Black Lives Matter, no "stat" is worth getting ROD, worse fired. Handle your calls for service as best you can, as promptly as the preliminary investigation's complexity will permit, and should commanders be foolish enough to demand "stats," respectfully ask they submit such requests in writing, and watch how quickly they change their tune.

Our Chief did instruct all members to keep contact and citizen engagements to a minimum in order to limit the potential spread and contract of covid 19. Way too many members have tested positive. We will not go out there and enforce traffic laws or look for narcotic arrests to please potential future chiefs or majors who then credit themselves and never mention their men and women. We will continue to serve our hurting communities via quick response to 911 dispatched calls for service and continue to provide free foods and services to them. This is definitely not the time to hand out costly traffic fines to unemployed and depressed and sick worried citizens. We should also consider to defund our police department so we can better serve and fund services to our citizens such as social workers, homeless and drug abuse outreach programs and mental health services. Stop using the boots on ground mens to assist you all in acquiring rank or status.
