If this is true what is Valentin doing about it? Doesn’t he work in the chiefs office ?

Stop putting puppets from the administration in the union that’s the problem with this place

The union is suppose to be Independent of the administrations not ran by it

And yes, it was the same bs under ROD Whortiz

Previously we posted this missive citing Florida Statute Section 316.640 Enforcement. The enforcement of this state's traffic laws is vested as follows:

    (8) TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT AGENCY. (3) MUNICIPALITIES
    (b) A traffic enforcement agency may not establish a traffic citation quota.

Obviously, it is necessary to cite it again. Is the pressuring command person one of the candidates the city manager considers for the police chief's position? If so, what a joke his ignorant demand makes him.

When will "supervisors" learn that arrests and citations are not metrics for measuring, evaluating subordinate officers' performance? They are tools of the vocation, no different than your Glocks, Radios, etc. . . Rather, "supervisors" should demand patrol officers handle calls for service expeditiously and in greater numbers per shift, whether or not responding officers write a report or not. Besides, such demands violate FSS 316.640 Enforcement, Intent, Letter, and Spirit.

Advice, ignore commanders' demands for enforcement productivity. Besides, enforcement creates conflict, conflict generates use of force, use of force generates complaints, and in the era of Black Lives Matter, no "stat" is worth getting ROD, worse fired. Handle your calls for service as best you can, as promptly as the preliminary investigation's complexity will permit, and should commanders be foolish enough to demand "stats," respectfully ask they submit such requests in writing, and watch how quickly they change their tune.

Our chief shows great concern for his troops on ground. He is greatly upset at those commanders who deliberately are demanding for members to risk their health against this virus in order to produce stats and numbers to impress certain individuals. We must continue to listen to our chief and ignore those individuals who never did anything as officers and hid behind desks and only took backups to avoid being primary on incidents.

Stats? Why? So someone who hasn't been in patrol in over 5 years or has never used a BWC can review my camera and get me reprimanded? MINIMUM civilian contact = less chance IA or Training or High Liability or BWC detail randomly reviewing what I did and Monday morning quarterbacking me and getting in trouble

First line supervisors will be assigned body worn cameras as of next year. Patrol sergeants and their lieutenants. Let them experience such before they mandate for their subordinates to do any type of proactive police work. Commanders you want stats? Go out there and engage subjects like Commander Alfonso would do several years ago. Our respect to that man. None of these commanders now a days have the motivation nor commitment to their zones like he did. For those who demand numbers and quotas now, go out there yourselves and do police work. We will respond and transport the subject for you with minimal body worn camera footage.
