Time for load bearing vests and rifle plates
Most of our Bay Area agencies are already issuing load bearing vests which come with rifle rated armor. The weight of the plates only adds a few ounces and saves officers from having to put on a cumbersome plate carrier when things turn sideways. Somehow the cost of such life and body saving equipment has eluded the Sheriffs Office. Yet we got money for body cams and new tasers.

Gualtieri is wasting money on body cams instead to cater to Democrats for votes. He is the progressive RINO sheriff which TBT crows about.

Some of you have read too much Soldier of Fortune magazine and are fantasizing about it. While the load bearing vest is a good idea the rifle rated armor is not needed. It is also more heavy crap we'd have to carry. Let's not mix the two and give everyone the idea we dream about being operators like the SWAT boys do.

P-Park, St Pete, some of CPD, Pasco, TT, Tampa, some of manatee to name a few. LBV considerably reduce the risk of lower back problems which saves the agency money and increases your quality of life once you retire. You must sit under the shade tree and let your squad carry the load.
