Sheriff Tom Knight said body cameras reduce complaints, but "do not change the culture of a police agency stuck in the wrong decade." Knight said deputies will not use body cameras [to record events, interactions and conversations].

Knight’s successor, Kurt Hoffman, did not return a phone call, but said in August that body cameras are not needed in Sarasota County.

Bodycams are a godsend. Knight's refusal to allow bodycams to record incidents to reduce liability and complaints is odd. Knight is stuck in the wrong decade.
