You have no voice
Do you know why we’re still on 4-12 directed to find ways to keep busy u til someone figures out our role is because you have no voice.
The director hates law enforcement and wants you all to quit. Not one captain stands up for you. If you haven’t noticed we have lost two captains already through covid and a third is on his way out. The remaining captains are all very old and just counting down the days to retirement. They will even tell you they won’t say anything cause it’s not worth it and they don’t want their pensions jeopardized. The newest captain is a yes man so you won’t hear anything out of him either.
So instead of anyone standing up and saying “hey director since we can’t enforce covid anymore and you don’t want us doing any enforcement why not take the weekend off and have everyone come in Monday 8-4 to catch up on open cases and get further direction,” nope all the captains just say there quietly.
Thank your captains. They have no voice for you and no spines

Your information is way past wrong. Probably like your investigations, full of opinion and half truths. Here are the facts. 8-5, Monday-Friday is gone. You should take a look at yourself and decide if you want to be here. You state captains are just counting their time. That statement is all the proof I need to determine you are doing the same thing. The difference is in your case, you don't want to work during the time you have left.

No one cares if we don’t work days steady it’s just ridiculous to work steady 4-12 just for the sake of saying we work 4-12. Do we really need to be out there til midnight every sunday?
Shouldnt they figure out what our new mission and objective is and then determine the best days/hours to work? Makes more sense to me.

Has anyone thought about going to 10 or 12s? Since were permanent nights that’s 20 days a month we’re away from the fam. If we go to 10s that’s 16 days and 12s that’s 13 days.
Also Since they won’t let us flex at all, some of us drive 5 hours round trip to reach parts of our district. Throw in office time that leaves maybe 2 hours in the field. Would be more efficient working a longer shift.

Last time high chair people
You and your “fam” are a joke. This administration has kept you employed and is the only reason you are here today. Now it is time to step up instead of banging your spoon on the high chairs. You owe the citizens of the state a service, 8-5 is gone step up or step out. Expect to be working nights and weekends from here out and if you can’t handle that then go somewhere else. Nobody is asking any of you to remain.

Congratulations
You poor souls just spent over six months working nights and weekends during a pandemic that saw your state counterparts at other agencies working from home. Your admin is taking credit for your labor and hasn’t even thanked you. Now they’re about to screw you people over even worse. And you wonder why so many of us have left this year? Get smart and find another job before the QAR frame jobs start.

Get ready for nights and rotating shifts with 7 days a week coverage like were a patrol first responder unit. This Chief is a complete fool. No leadership ability next we will be out checking deer tags and fishing licenses.
