The cost of living has grown at a rate of 1% nationally during the period from the start of the county budget year in October to the end of July, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The contemplated 3% raise means county workers will more than keep pace with inflation.

3% to the average deputy is about $1400. To command its $3000, anyone see an issue with that? 3% over a career without promotions is about 30k more than when you start which is not good. We aren’t here to be rich but we are here to make it a career.
