Hiring Lateral
Wondering how’s the hiring process for an officer with prior corrections and currently working as a police officer, also Bi lingual and clean file.
Does the agency have take home vehicles? If so, is it right after FTO training or after the year probation?
What is the distance you have to take the vehicle home?
Pension?
Any information will be appreciated.

Been covered many times. Is grass greener. Nope. FMPD is the Titanic. Admin does not give a sh!t or support the officers. Random witch hunts on body camera footage. Crap for equipment and no take home right away. If your ever here just walk around the agency and take a look. Pension iis ok, but that will probably be next on the chopping block. do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

We have a great team here at the Ft Myers PD. Great benefits, supportive staff and equipment that is second to none!
We are always looking for the best officers, but unfortunately -as you can see- some of the "at risk" deplorables are able to slip through the process.
This is what happens when you do not require a degree.
But nevertheless it is a great department.
