Once reluctant, Pinellas sheriff exploring body cameras for deputies

Good photo of pear shaped Bob. He switched to being a body cam proponent after years of rejecting body cams because
his agency is so professional, transparent and ethical.

it's almost as if...ding ding ding, it's not his f'ing decision is it?
you think it's anyone's decision to do half the crap that's coming our way into this profession? at the mercy of government from here on out...and in my experience, no matter what it is, whenever the government gets their hands on it, it's gonna blow.
stuff is gonna blow soon, this is just the beginning.

He is doing due to political pressure. The other surrounding agencies are doing it so Bob doesn’t want be left out. If a deputy did anything that was questionable, the media would have a field day with bob over the matter. This will start out as body camera for pulling out your weapon. Eventually, it will be on full time. This is same thing that happen with GPS. They initially said they wouldn’t use it as a weapon to write you up and it was for safety concerns and now they can and will use it to write you up. This was eventually going to happen. No surprise.

Same story in D&C when cameras were installed many years ago. The cameras are mainly used to spy and write up D&C deputies. They have tons of corporals and sergeants who watch endless hours of video from the jail floors trying to nail deputies for the dumbest reasons. The irony is that the top brass doesn't even trust them to spy on their own deputies so they watch video from other shifts to nail them instead of their own people.
Bob did a 180 on body cameras to placate the South Side and get their votes, and because Santana supports body cams. Now they both have the same policy on body cams and the review board. Bob flat out lied for years and years when he said body cams were not needed because he trusts his deputies, etc.

Just wait until one of the supervisors forgets to turn off the body cam when they are on the receiving end of a blizzowjizzob from a sworn member or a civilian.
Bet that'll make the news.

Hilarious how Bob boned some of these guys who post here defending him by turning PCSO into SPPD by adopting body cams and the review board. Especially since he stated numerous times he was against body cams and review boards. How do they like him now? Bob is a socialist just like Santana.

Haven’t seen a single camera demo. Not worried.
