The days of taking preemptive action, based on kinesic body language, are over. The suspect's body may become ridged, as he prepares to swing or run or whatever, but you must allow him to fully follow-through with his kinesic motion before you take defensive action. Specifically, you must allow yourself to be pushed, kicked, punched or spit on BEFORE you take action -- even if you see it kinesically coming.

It does appear in the video that the kid made a jumping motion towards Pizzo, I hate Monday morning quarterbacking and I wasn’t there so not my place to judge, hope all works out for Pizzo

Way to tell the public what they want to hear before an internal affairs investigation was done. What happened to not making official comments to the media until the investigation is concluded. Or is it because of this accused teenagers race that the political and societal pressure changing the way we investigate things?

    1. In this case, Knight provided his investigatory conclusion BEFORE the IA began. Thus, the IA investigator will not dare conclude anything that is contrary to Knight's public statement. IA is a political charade.
      .
    2. An impartial or unbiased person will not provide investigative conclusions to the public until AFTER an investigation is concluded and AFTER all the facts have been submitted, compiled and assessed. In this charade, Knight provided the conclusion BEFORE the IA investigation is launched. There is a special place in hell for politically corrupted men like Knight.
      .
    3. If a deputy is innocent or guilty, fine, but at least let the system work as it is supposed to.

Kid said he was going to hurt deputy. Deputy approached kid and kid jumps up and pulled his arms out to fight. Deputy restrained kid and placed him in handcuffs. That’s all that I saw. If Knight is an expert at use of force he should have been there and handled it himself. Other than that he should shut his mouth until a complete investigation is done.

The Sheriff didn’t have Hall’s back and now doesn’t have Pizzo’s back... “that’s not how we operate” meaning we now have to let them strike us..

Neil doesn't take crap from people, and that's something that is definitely needed here. You might see this is a minor issue with the kid, but if they let everyone in the jail say "**** you cracker, I ain't doing shit," well you'd probably have a riot soon enough.

End result, we need a balance of the kinder gentler deputies, mixed with the old school, take no crap ones. As for the inmate, thank the kid's mother for raising a little asshole like that.
