Santana (D) vs Gualtieri (RHINO)
The sheriff's election is fast approaching and all of us should make a decision and vote.
Due to Sheriff Gualtieri turn to the left recently there is no practical difference between him and Santana. Sheriff Gulatieri
adopted everything the left wing organizations like BLM, NAACP, SPPD, and liberal politicians like Mayor Kriseman etc. asked for. Bob delivered for the Democrats to save his own political skin. This will be a competitive election for a change so Bob wanted to grab as much of the liberal vote as he can.
There is one very important distinction between the two candidates. If Sheriff Gualtieri is re-elected the double-dippers, the political appointments and promotions and the family dynasties will be safe and business as usual will continue. However if Santana wins most of these people will be gone because he will clean house. Secondly the playing field will be more level because the family dynasties will have less influence on promotions and appointments.
Go ahead and vote your conscience. If you do not want the current regime to continue then vote against it. Otherwise get ready for four more years of the same.

Sure if thats what you think then go ahead. Santana is TOTALLY UNQUALIFIED. The guy twisted wires to fix radios and did a crap job of that. This dynasty stuff you continual complain about has been around here and every sheriffs office forever. And every PD too. It’s the way it is. Are you old enough to remember Sheriff Bill Roberts, Sheriff Gerry Coleman, Sheriff Everett Rice and Sheriff Jim Coats? If yoU are then you will know that people complained about the same crap with them. It’s actually better under Sheriff Gualtieri then the others. Sheriff Rice was the worst!!! Bunch of drunks and unless you sat on the bar stool and drove drunk you could not get promoted. Santana would be clueless and dangerous. He would not know where to begin. The guy got sued a couple of months ago because he could not pay his credit card bill And he has filed a bunch of bankruptcies. Please!!!!!! The only think Santana brings is mofongo (Puerto Rican food) and lots of it. Look how fat he is.

You contradicted yourself because on one hand you criticized Rice who was experienced and qualified to be sheriff, yet you blasted him as the worst when it comes to agency politics. Under Gulatieri the agency politics have gotten worse yet you praise him, even if he was thin on experience when Coats appointed him sheriff. Then you criticize Santana for lacking law enforcement experience. If anything is to be learned here is that law enforcement experience is irrelevant for the sheriff's position because there have been sheriffs who were experienced but actually sucked.
Then you go on and say that politics exist in all agencies and have existed with all sheriffs. Doesn't make it right though. This is an opportunity to elect an outsider and change the inbred dynasty culture here and get rid of the double-dippers. These corrupt people have a lot to gain by re-electing Gualtieri so it is not surprising they are opposing Santana.
It is time for a positive change and Santana is the only one who can bring it and break up the corrupt cliques.

Santana is a moron. He ran for school board and lost, ran for Clearwater City Council and lost, and now he is running for sheriff and will lose. Guy is desperate because he obviously sucks with his finances and needs to make money so he is running for whatever he can.

If Gualtieri wins then we get 4 more years of his regime and if he decides to quit to run for something else, he will name a successor which will continue with the same double dippers, nepotism, cliques and the Greek mafia. This a unique opportunity to get rid of all this corruption and clean up the agency.
Speaking of experience, Rice and Coleman had experience and they were corrupt sheriffs, Gualtieri had very little experience when he was appointed and he has continued and even increased the corruption. While Santana lacks law enforcement experience he will shake up the status quo and get rid of the cliques and double dippers and will make sure the family dynasties don't have unfair advantages over other people when it comes to promotions.
There are some people who stand to gain financially from Gualtieri's re-election so the opposition to Santana is not surprising. But Santana is the only agent of change available, so while far from perfect, he will make big changes at the top.

What did Bob do before Coats appointed him Chief Deputy? Was he ever a corporal, sergeant, lieutenant, captain, or major? What was his best felony arrest? After getting his law degree he returned to beg Coats for a job because no law firm would hire him. LEO experience is not an indication of ethical behavior, management skill and personal integrity.
Santana ran for political office several times in what was a Republican county but things are changing. There are more registered Democrats than Republicans in Pinellas County now. There are more minority voters than there used to be. Santana has a real chance of beating Bob.

Funny that Bob criticized Rice for double-dipping but he hired back more double dippers.
