    How many vacant positions does the agency have? Are they looking to reduce the number of Troopers. Just close vacancies? Already hard enough for the busier counties to handle things with the manpower now.

    Agency has about 100 current vacancies. Layoffs coming.

    I agree with what another poster said. Governor Desantis is a very big supporter of the President. I don't see him doing anything that would even remotely appear to involve defunding law enforcement.

    The report is dated Sept 2019. It was probably created for a budget exercise for the 2020 session. These reduction exercises are completed every year.

    There are budget issues for the State without a doubt, but in most cases, personnel reductions are implemented through vacancies.
