Correct, he had signed a PERC card and was involved with the union in trying to get the captains to unionize, he had already worked out his retirement package, the captains took a vote after a meeting and decided not to unionize

All they’re going to do is make themselves insignificant paper b!tches. What would you do if Captains unionized right before you took office? Simple, you just change things around. For instance, only Majors and above would run a district. No Captains would be printed to Major, only Lt’s AMD Sgt’s would be printed to Major, etc. then you find the most meaningless places to transfer these people around the agency. The reason being the new Sheriff coming in has to have people they can trust running things. The sweet buy out package better be in the new contract because if it’s not, the new Sheriff will be throwing that out etc. Basically, the rank will be a glorified Lt. and nothing more at that point.

I sure hope this improves the moral of the deputies working in 54. Sit under a tree and don't do squat, if you are proactive pumpkin head will fire you just like anyone else that doesn't wash his sack.

You will not be forgotten Major Russo. We already know that you were snooping around while he was gone and gathering information. You blame a sharp increase in shootings on a person who is away on vacation????? Absolutely pathetic that this administration pulled another Brian Faer and used the same excuse that there were no openings for a Captain in the agency but you can find 3 openings for a Sgt to become a Captain.
This is not remotely what happened with Brian Faer. He was a district captain and the city manager called the sheriff to say she lost confidence in him and the city would no longer accept him as their captain. There were no other captain vacancies then, and it would have been crazy to pull another captain out of another city (who would have complained they liked their captain) to send to North Lauderdale just to create an opening for Faer. So Faer was out. It wasn't personal (from the sheriff), it was the city manager's call.

Even if they all sign cards I'm not sure they can legally unionize. I'm pretty sure it would be a legal fight before (or even if) there would ever be a PERC vote. Sheriff would make the case captains are management and not subject to being unionized. Not sure if he'd win or not, but I'd give the agency better than 50/50 of winning the legal fight. It may never get to a vote.

No, it wasn't personal that they pulled him out, what was personal is that they did not give him another position. You had captain Granville counting pencils for 3 years in a do nothing job because the city manager of daina couldn't work with the imbecile, but they found a position for him. Could it be because of his color. 👮🏿
