How do the shifts work for FHP down south. Do you work 12 10 or 8 hour shifts? I applied but I want to work down south where I have my family. Miami

I believe miami works 8 hour shifts. Troopers work a lot off duty jobs there.

It’s no bad place to work. Every troop has its issues. I don’t think they have mandatory overtime. They may ask you to stay longer and pick up another crash if we r holding too many at the end of the shift.

On the plus side, you can work a lot of off duty jobs.
Finding a good and inexpensive place to live is hard. There are certain areas you want to stay away from.
The cost of living is a little higher too. The food is good and the people are nice too, but don’t obey the laws
as much. It’s like living in a Latin Country. The beaches are great and if you are single, you’ ll plenty
