Jairo Bravo dies from COVID and nothing from the PBA

PBA personnel should step down. You do NOTHING for corrections- NOTHING!!!
Officer Bravo dies and the PBA makes no calls, no calling out the department, nothing as they eat lunch and dinners free. Spoke to Davis and he said don’t expect anything meaningful from PBA.
He said he was kicked out after discovering criminal activity and exposed it.

    Bargaining Unit Members,

It is with a heavy heart that I begin this email mourning the passing of Correctional Officer Jairo Bravo, who lost his life one week ago to COVID-19. The dangers of this pandemic cannot be overstated, and we continue to urge everyone to be as safe as possible while doing an already dangerous job. Our prayers are with Jairo's family.

Helping during trying times is what we do, and this week was no different with the successful blood drive conducted at both our building and at the Broward PBA. The drive was so successful that they will be returning in November. For those who donated this week, you will be eligible to donate again in November. While always important, donating blood is even more crucial during the pandemic, as your blood will be tested for antibodies that are needed to treat those who are suffering through COVID-19.

This week we once again successfully fended off duplicitous and unneeded IRP legislation. Last week we forced the County Commission to abide by their own rules, requiring them to cancel a meeting that was not convened properly. This week, our supporters on the Commission who understand the issue and are not acting purely politically blocked the IRP from appearing on the ballot in November. While we know that the type of civilian oversight that is being introduced is cumulative and not necessary in Miami-Dade County, there are some that are simply trying to politicize events occurring elsewhere in the country.

As I have previously advised, we have worked long and hard to forge great alliances with our community and community organizations. We continue to receive an overwhelming amount of e-mails and calls of support from the public wanting us to know that they stand with law enforcement. Earlier this week, there was a “Back the Blue” caravan that drove from Kendall to MDPD HQ in support of law enforcement. Keep doing what you are doing, and we will protect against the politicizing of what you do.

Having said that, what is most important is staying safe. The last couple of weeks have been active, with several police-involved shootings. Luckily, no officers were injured, with a bulletproof vest doing what it was intended to. Do not let ongoing politics or unflattering news stories affect how you do your job. Taking police action is oftentimes not pretty. Being filmed doing what you were trained to do, by the book, will still evoke anger from some. Once again, DO NOT LET THAT AFFECT HOW YOU DO YOUR JOB! The most important thing is making it home safely at the end of your shift. Remember that your PBA is here for you.

Steadman Stahl is a POS liar. Now, he sends a BS notice. The PBA should have any at least a sympathy card to the family.
Mr Stahl don’t come on here now and make it seem Like you care about corrections officers. You treat less than you police officers and that’s a fact.
