Defund and Reorganize
Multitudes of citizens have been looking into the budget of NBV and no longer can afford the salaries and take home car program along with all the fluff. 7 million dollars soon to have a small town police department is too much and unsustainable unless taxes go up and up.

Miami Beach here we come!
I think we have seen over and over and over and over and over...... That we are not capable of doing this ourselves..... I think it is time to talk seriously about becoming a part of Miami Beach.

Were done
I see the police budget has just been approved for another raise and back pay of 11 months and more time allowed to be banked on their vacation accounts. This is now going to ultimately raise the next years police budget to close to 7 million dollars. The non union personnel will also be getting bump. The over all city budget is just under 10 million and the police are the majority.
In the next several years get ready for higher taxes with little to show for it!

Who is We
You’re right about the over inflated budget. If you get rid of the Noriega crew that’s huge savings. Take home cars for pert time employees? If this manager cared he’d put an end to this, but it’s not his money.

Without the city charter you residents will be taking orders from Miami Beach residents which btw in case you haven’t noticed out number NBV residents. You’ll never, ever, ever get what you want, your voice and the voice of your neighbors won’t matter. If you think you’re meaningless and irrelevant now.
If the beach takes over you won’t have a say in anything that happens to you or your community, you guys just don’t have enough residents to matter you ignorant dolt.

Too many hoops
This won't happen because of the amount of hoops to jump through, any one of which could derail that train. You would need three separate commissions to all agree, then taxation agreements, charter amendments, general elections, and on and on. If hell froze over first, this would still take a decade to finalize. This has to be handled in-house which basically means it won't, it has to be accepted. The collusion and corruption will not let it happen.

Here is all you have to do. Get body cameras and dashboard cameras on these cops and cars. And as for the money, here’s where you get the money. Justice Assistance Program (JAG), Community Oriented Policing (cops). etc...
These are grants. Instead of wasting money with some obscure accreditation that benefits nobody. Get these body cams and hold these people responsible for every minute there being paid by the city. Enough is enough already.

Defund
Defund our police not the village. Just contact southwest Ranches in broward, they contract Davie police and love it. It saves millions. Our police are too expensive at this point.

Not for long
NBV POLICE will not be around within 5 years so young cops should be looking for a new place of employment and older cops should Be Preparing for early retirement. The mismanagement of police funds, unnecessary spending and over staffed police department will make it impossible to maintain the force. For this force to remain in NBV you have to fire about 30% of the force, cancel the take home car program and make the detective bureau and lieutenants responsible for road patrol coverage. There are too many employees doing nothing and getting away with it.
