Our Worth to the Community in today's World

Collective bargaining is a Constitutionally guaruteed right. We are at a time when The American Law Enforcement Officer is under attack. Our healthcare was hit politically to do what exactly? Then the George Floyd incident began a series of cries from people who run from danger while we're running into danger. In our little city, an anti-police move had our leadership on their knees because the politicians are ant-cop. Even though Lt. McCready walked door to door with the mayor, we're still looked at by the politicians as the enemy. Our FOP president took a knee. then look, our use of force policy is re-written by primarily two politicians instead of our use of force expert, Manny C. Never mind we have an experienced chief who should educate the politicians on why they should stay out of that stuff. The last time a chokehold was used here was when the chief grabbed the back of Manny's head. The next day the cheif's overpaid executive assistant ordered t-shirts to be worn at the commission meeting to protest the near tragic outcoming and abuse of a voluntary knob polish. The shirts read, "Manny can't Breef". the officer wore the shirts and lined 79 st in front of city hall. Citizens honked and waived and laughed hard on their way to the meeting. The commission was scared and did'nt know what to do. The city attorney asked for extra money in case Manny sued the city. When the officers entered the meeting, an acted of sypathy by the commision was demonstrated. They came from behind their seats, got down on one knee, held their left hand in front of their mouff's as it they were holding a large cucumber, then placed their right hand on the back of their heads. The only cop not there that night was cpl guubnn--ment j.o.b. he took the shirt and it wouldn't fit over his kung fu stomach. so, he went to the shell station and washed his car with it. when axed about it, he said since he didn't know what it said he wasn't gonna wear it. Jackson said she only did it to stay out of jail. $88,000 for a secretary? No joke holds!!!! Vote No for this contract because they will give us more. And because "Manny can't Breefe".

    Another Dimwit

The National Labor Relations Act, or “NLRA,” was established in 1935. The Act set the standards for U.S. labor laws, which guarantee employees certain basic rights, such as the right to organize into trade unions, and the ability to engage in collective bargaining negotiations.
There is NO constitutional right to Collective Bargaining, it’s a law. Your sentence structure, grammar, and punctuation is alarming. I hope you’re not an employee from the police department.

    Wrong

Your wrong mister new guy, you dumb sh t. The last contract was drawn up and ratified over four years and half ago. At that time not one single person was effected by having less benefits. You mister new guy applied here knowing what the benefits are and you would have a two tier system, YOU still wanted to work here. Why did you still want to work here knowing you would be given a little less then senior officers? I’ll tell you you ignorant ass, because it was better then where you came from obviously. The first person to hire on after the contract was manrat from el portal, then other “new” guys and gals. So stop your ignorant rant on how YOU were screwed. All of you have it better then where you came from or you wouldn’t have applied Genius!
Just be happy we all are getting two pew ENT pay raise with full back pay back to October 2019. After elections, the commission will be giving us another two year contract for around 5 more percent. Be happy with what we have and what YOU have.

BTW First Amendment is based the vote, the right to assemble and associate etc.... therefore the right to collective bargaining is by de facto a constitutional right. Which was upheld by theUSSPC multiple times. The argument was that collective bargaining is a form of expressive speech. I’m a local and a delegate in the LOCAL GFYM an of shoot of EAB of DIKS.

It’s quite disturbing if not out right terrifying that police officers can’t distinguish between U.S. Labor Laws, and the U.S. Constitution.

    Fearless

Officers, don’t be afraid to vote for your best interest. The senior cops had a good run here and they know it, this contract is weak at best and the City knows it. I’m not sure why our Union/fop is pushing this contract on the cops but it’s definitely not what we need or deserve. 2% this year and no raise for 2021Absolutely Ridiculous. Vote it down and wait for a better offer.

It really is ridiculous, brass and detectives lobbied for raise in phone stiffen Raise from $50 to $75 but the road patrol guys have to use their phones on duty to call victims/witness and get zero$$ also, special units get an extra $60 biweekly for what? Why didn’t they negotiate for all of us to get $50 biweekly for using our phones? This contract is crap and anyone who votes for it should be ashamed.
