    Union talk

We want to thank Mr. Servoney for talking to us and getting his thoughts on the future of our police department, personnel and budget after the elections. So is appears our budget would be left alone and Any de-budgeted position will be reinstated this October. All members as you know we passed our contract and we can expel a retro pay raise of no less then 2% for the first year then a 3% years two and three. Police administrators will receive a one time bump of 4% to stay in line with county standards. The starting pay will be raised of new officers to 59,800.00 and new hires with 5 years or more will be starting at 64,000.00 a year. Topped out lieutenants will be bumped to 110,000.00 base and receive the same raises as officers years two and three. The Chief will be raised to 139,000.00 a year The Great Doctor advised the budget cannot go more then 7.5 million by year 2021 of October with a max of 8 million by 2022 which will allow NBV police to be one of the best paid police in all of Dade County. This for the hard work and dedication of all those Police Officers who show up day to day to lay their life down if need be to protect our fine citizens of NBV.

    Thank you so much, Brian

The manager with the mayor and chief's backing found a way to save 2 million dollars from the police budget. Behar has been the one who came up with the plan using his 30 years of police management experience.

First they are demoting the 2 lieutenants to sergeant. We will then have the budgeted 3 sergeants.

Second they are bringing costa back to be the fulltime detective.

Brent, Casais, Suarez, Collins and Mccready will be sent to the patrol.

Anna will be sent to city hall managers new executive assistant while Jimenez with his Master's Degree will replace her. Thus saving 50k. Emails will be sent out in English.

These changes will be formally announced at tonight's commission meeting as a way to take another knee to BLM.

Also being discussed is taking away the take home vehicle program, more from you health insurance and the shoe stipends.

Your scheduled cola raises from last year and the following years is also gone so the chief can hire 3 more part time buddies to give bullshi* jobs to.

Thank you mayor and commissioners. Dont worry we will still support you this election.

As a resident I am only giving my concerns that the police budget is way too much. Now this commission wants to give a 2% raise now for one year with a contract opener for year two and three for more money! Are we that financially strong to now have almost a 7 million dollar police budget?

    Vote No

Cheezar is selling everyone down the river by even bring this ti a vote. He should be ashamed of himself. VOTE NO. The city is not in control here we are. The FOP can fund a mailer to all registered voters saying that because of the great work of our men and women here they’re safe unlike many other cities in America. The revised use of force policy was a political move. We don’t have those problems here. We are under attack. We must act as a bargaining unit not two separate unions. Newer officers will regret voting for this contract very shortly into your time here. Cheezar is in bed with them so bad. This manager is screwing us now because he knows Chervony likes us and the service we provide. The manager is part of the family and friends program and he’s protecting his little scam by taking from employees. Look at the healthcare, it was not the vendor it was the manager. The city wasted so much money now they want to screw us. Cheezar what are you doing WTF!!!!

The great benefits of the old guys have been chipped away. That’s lack of unity. Just like the FRS, it’s hard to go back. Comp time is a right. It was bargained away and for young guys to get it, others must give up some goodies. Young guys should be brought up period. With out a good base where everyone is equal, we’re split and easily manipulated. Young guys are almost always bought out by nice offerings from management. They forgo benefits to kiss up. Then benefits become comprised. Later they get chipped away and you’re further behind than you should be. That’s why. Be demanding. This offer needs to be met with a resounding NO! Healthcare was already sacrificed. Changing vendors was not the answer. The city manager did it. The new guys will get half of the old guys type of benefits and will lose those in the long run! It’s not rocket science and you don’t vote to please management and that includes a chief and he’s pretty solid. Do you really need more.

    I will quote you:

"Newer officers will regret voting for this contract" BECAUSE "The great benefits of the old guys have been chipped away"?

    That's actually historical.

I agree, but don’t hold it against cc. He’s playing the game. The city can’t handle impasse during COVID. Meet with everyone and see what changes would make it pass. Or a no vote will get more negotiations. Guarantee it. We can get more and lose nothing. The FOP is strong but, if we accept this, we are selling ourselves short. Let’s hit our community partners and flood the chambers!!! Oh I forgot we can’t. COVID and all. See we have time, and November is almost here. We have time.
