Bring back the Miami beach police 4th shift bike squad. That squad sized volunteer R.P. unit responded to Ocean and Collins 5th to 13th street and had total control of every developing ugly scene. Ask Lieutenant Corps who ran it with 6 other officers, 80% of the time they got compliance just by showing up on scene as it was kicking off , it was was diffrent than the ocean drive squad. They were on bikes dedicated, they were arrival in seconds and resolved everything from minor complaints , traffic, walk outs, disturbances..... all resolved quickly. They gang tackled every complaint and moved on to the next . They were not Area 4 units they were an exclusive unit , they had all of Ocean and Collins on lock ! , go look back at your records and stats they were like calvary, exempt them from body cameras so they can stay fluid and proactive not slowed down. You already have cameras covering every inch of that area. They saved our asses in the south patrol every night, and we did all the transports and paperwork so they could stay in zone in service. Bring back the 4th shift bike squad problems solved by 70%. For real they were bad asses tore it up!

Sure that’s the answer and not a sober cop in sight. Yes sergeant corps is QRU but come on let’s be honest the guy had has share of issues and came close several times to being arrested and fired . The only thing that saved his butt was being on SWAT. There is nothing that’s going to fix ocean dr.

Two of the guys on that squad changed Miami Beach forever with the ATV ride. Others on that unit stayed inside mangos drinking all shift while others were at fat Tuesdays and the Clevelander. So I’m really not sure what great cops you were talking about.

Mr mayor if you think for one minute stopping alcohol sales at 12 is going to change the type of visitors you and your liberal staff have so graciously invited to the beach your sadly mistaken. These people are not going in to the clubs to purchase the alcohol. They are not paying the cover charge at mangos they are doing what they do hanging in the street drinking out of the trunk of the car and causing havoc. This is the new black Rivera and you own it. Don’t expect the police to bail you out on a 12 hour rotating shift so keep screwing us over and you and fat boy jimmy can patrol the entertainment district. Oh you can change all you want but it’s going to change nothing it’s only going to get worse and Ricky is not your answer the Troops have lost faith on him to make the right decisions. Make no mistake if your visitors were white you would not be trying to make all the changes But then you would not have the violence you are having. So keep up the support for BLM
