Bob Martin reported that repairs to the fire suppression system at Evidence are ongoing after recent lightning strike.

Carla Quann discussed the School District’s plans to start school on Aug. 31, although a lot of the details (virtual school, remote learning, in-person classes) are still being worked out.

Lee Menke reported that the number of attempts to breach the network have dropped by 25 percent recently.

Liliane Benucci gave an update from Records, which received about 250 new public records requests over the past week and has closed 92 percent of them.

DC Summers discussed the upcoming Evergreen compensation study (see Sheriff Chitwood’s 7/21 email) and emphasized that employee responses are going to be crucial to determining pay scale decisions. It will be important to put in the effort to provide the most detailed responses we can.

Capt. Westfall discussed Blue Team and the need for good photos in all cases – BWC images are often being used as a substitute, but those are not always good enough quality.

Molly Hudson reported that an orientation video on the Evergreen pay study will be coming out. With everyone’s attention and cooperation, the goal is to get the whole study done by September.

Chief Gallagher discussed hurricane season and reminded everyone to make a plan, with the season’s peak usually arriving mid-August to late October. With everything else going on, it’s as important as ever to be prepared for a potential hurricane.

Sheriff Chitwood closed the meeting thanking everyone for all their hard work.
