    Negotiating with Activists

First of all, concessions not earned, should never be given. The protesters will brag that looting and burning and violence is necessary to get attention, that's why they do it. Blocking traffic, the protesters know that they are inconviencing the motoring public, but their cause is bigger than your inconvience. Not responding quickly to disturbances, emboldens them to continue. No consequences for violating the law, also emboldens them to continue. Not enforcing the law, because it may lead to further confrontations, is voluntarily ceding your lawful authority to the protesters . When a incident occurs that is going to demand that you end this mess, it will seem excessive and extreme, because you have done little before it comes to this. The citizens of St. Pete should demand better from the PD. Allowing roads to be blocked, patrons to be harrassed at the pier and other downtown locations, shouldn't be tolerated. Perhaps it's time that the good citizens raise their voices. Maybe we should be encouraging them to since we are restrained and not able to.

Kriseman and Holloway have to go because they intentionally have failed to perform their duties. There is no negotiating, no nothing. They have to go. Their replacements have to be tough on crime and pro-law enforcement to clean up the city and improve public safety. We can't have St.Pete turn into Minneapolis or Chicago.
