You may never read this, but maybe you will. Your officers are getting destroyed out here. For three months we’ve been dealing with the effects of quarantine while being destroyed by media and protestors. To start we were given bullshit mask and hand sanitizer that causes blindness or death. Next we were told we would be kept safe yet hundreds of positive test by officers have been kept under wraps. Some of us are scared to hug our kids, we haven’t seen older family members in months. Yet we don’t get no relief. Every other profession is getting relief and a break but not us. Idc if other departments aren’t doing it aren’t we the standard? Your officers are scared to touch subjects because we feel the department doesn’t have our backs yet you won’t give a statement. Leaders lead from the frontline not from the comfort of the their third floor window. Your chiefs are taking weeks off instead of leading but your officers are getting screwed with shady protection, shady supervision, shady orders.
We have hurricane season coming and we are expected to have a busy season. We can be weeks away from alpha/bravo yet we haven’t even fixed the first issue.

This is a lie. Kendall has officers working right now who were exposed by family members for days without knowing. When she told command staff they told her to keep working till results come back in. That can be days!!! Only reason i found out is because she told me how worried she is.

Don't be so hard on Director F. Ramirez, after all, he works at the pleasure of Carlos Gimenez and that must be a hell of a stressor. Any of you deriding the Director, if in his shoes, would do the same thing he has or be prepared, within weeks, to be fired by Gimenez. That's the reality of today's MDPD police director, a "sock puppet" flailing in Gimenez's autocratic impulses. The days when an MDPD police director could count the number of commissioners who would support him against a county manager's sudden, termination decision, left in 1996 when Fred Taylor retired. Even the obstinate Carlos Alvarez had to swallow Penelas decisions, though Penelas was not a strong mayor, he acted as one through a weak county manager, after Meritt Stearheim resigned, err got fired. The era of the strong mayor, brought MDPD, the time of the "sock puppet" police director, so imagine should Penelas get reelected. He will not have to pretend anymore, he is free to come out as the flaming liberal he is. For you, it is going to be a nightmare, and here is likely model:
