The charges against the woman who was seen on body cam video being hit by a Miami-Dade police officer at Miami International Airport after she taunted him have been dropped, according to the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office.

It was not immediately clear why the charges against 21-year-old Paris Anderson were dismissed.

On July 1, body-camera footage surfaced that showed Anderson yelling at an officer at MIA. She then put her face up to his and the officer can be seen striking her in the face.

Anderson was arrested and charged with felony battery on a police officer and disorderly conduct.

While Miami-Dade Police Director Alfredo Ramirez has not officially named the officer, multiple sources identified him as Antonio Clemente Rodriguez. Rodriguez, who is stationed at the airport, is a Black officer of Puerto Rican heritage.

Soon after the video surfaced, the officer was relieved of duty. Ramirez said he had asked Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle to investigate the use of force.
