Knight's personal credit cards have a higher credit limit than $2000, but that's not listed on the burglary report:

Why is Knight leaving cash and credit cards in his vehicle overnight?

Is that a daily habit of his ---- or was it just a one time mistake?

Everyone knows the answer to that.

On the bright side, Knight will be statutorily removed from office on January 4. Gone!!!!!!

Easter Bunny is real too. It would not be uncommon for car 1 to have emergency petty cash in his car. Marc and Narc Commanders do.

The Easter bunny and Knight have a lot in common. The Easter bunny is a myth and Knight is a legend in his own mind.

      (a) Drove and parked his agency issued vehicle.
      (b) Left his wallet, cash, credit cards and other items unattended and overnight in his agency-issued vehicle.

    3. Knight’s on-duty actions resulted in him becoming a victim.

    4. Knight’s victimization was preventable. If Knight had taken his personal property with him, instead of leaving it unattended and overnight in his agency-issued department, then he would not be a crime victim. Knight’s negligence while on-duty made him a victim of a burglary.

    5. Knight’s on-duty actions demonstrated poor judgement, which reflect unfavorably on the Sarasota Sheriff’s Office. That is not a sufficient legal reason to hide, shield or scrub his identity from public view, nor from media inquiries.
Why was Sheriff Tom Knight's name scrubbed from the official police report? Here is scrubbed report with Knight's name blacked-out to shield him from public view:

The court finds that the explicit language of Marsy’s Law was not intended to apply to law enforcement officers when acting in their official capacity."

The judge added that officers are not shielded by Marsy’s Law.

The bigger question is: How did Lee Williams learn that the name is Tom Knight? The information was obviously leaked to the media.

The entire incident is very strange.

If the burglary had happened to Knight's personally owned vehicle, then Marcy's law might be applicable. However:
    - The burglary was of a government-owned patrol vehicle and
    - Knight's victimization is a result of his on-duty negligence when he left his cash and personal credit cards unattended and overnight in a patrol vehicle.

Last week, Judge Dodson ruled that the names of officers cannot be scrubbed, yet Knight's name remains scrubbed from the original police report. Do you remember when Knight defied the local orders of the Chief Judge of the 12th Judicial Circuit? This type of behavior for Knight is par for the course. Thank gawd Knight will be forced out of office on January 4, 2021.

Who leaked Knight's name to the newspaper? No one will ever know!!!!

This is a shout-out and special thanks to Lee Williams for printing Knight's name in the newspaper, even though Knight's name is blacked out from public view in the original police report. You will continue to be sent hot tips that Tom Knight and Kurt Hoffman do not want you to know about.
